The Mini Electric, known officially as the Mini Cooper SE in some markets, signifies Mini's step into the world of electric vehicles (EVs). Launched in 2019, it combines the iconic style and spirited driving experience associated with Mini cars with zero-emissions driving.

Powered by a front-mounted synchronous electric motor, the Mini Electric produces a maximum power output of 184 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque, delivering brisk acceleration and a fun-to-drive character. It can sprint from 0-60 mph in approximately 7.3 seconds, making it comparably quick to its petrol-powered counterparts.

The electric motor is paired with a 32.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, housed low in the vehicle to maintain a low center of gravity for better handling. The Mini Electric offers an estimated range of up to 110 miles (177 km) on a full charge, which is sufficient for most urban and suburban driving routines.

Visually, the Mini Electric is not significantly different from a conventional Mini hatchback. The main distinguishing feature is the lack of a tailpipe and the presence of electric-specific badges. Read more
